When we first walked into this 1920’s Spanish revival home I felt like I’d entered old world Hollywood. The stately mansions lining the street, the heritage trees in every yard, and the list of well-known previous owners all combined to give this estate a certain gravitas. However, some bad renovations and the existing 1960’s kitchen were calling out for help. Our client wanted to maintain the Mediterranean history of the architecture while updating the rooms to today’s standards, so our designs pulled from traditional Morrocan, Spanish, and Italian influences. The tile in the guest bath was painstakingly cut to fit the custom Moroccan-style shower, and it was worth every hour of labor. So beautiful! This work was done in collaboration with Carol Abbott.
